Dr Ameen is dual trained as a Pharmacist and Dentist. He graduated with Distinctions from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. During his dental training, he was the recipient of a multiple of prizes including the “Best Overall Student Performance in Part 1”, “the Best Student in Clinical Human, Health and Disease” and “the QMUL Draper’s Prize for Outstanding Academic Performance in Part 2 of BDS” – a multidisciplinary award given to top performing students.
Dr Ameen was also elected as the President of Barts and the London Dental Society, where he served as a key opinion leader of undertakings on the Bachelor of Dentistry course at Queen Mary University London. During this time he co-founded the award-winning initiative of “Bitesize Dentistry” and acted as the student representative for the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr Ameen has built a very good working relationship with dental companies such as Colgate, Oral-B, GSK, Dentsply Sirona and Trycare; some of these companies have requested Dr Ameen to sample and critique their products.
Having spent most of his working career in private dental practice, Dr Ameen is confident in providing smile makeovers utilising orthodontics (Invisalign), composite bonding and porcelain veneers. He is committed to functional aesthetic general and restorative dentistry. He believes that the best treatment is that which mimics nature. His postgraduate studies were under the tutelage of the UK’s most prominent cosmetic and aesthetic restorative dentist, and former director of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr Christopher Orr.
Dr Ameen is most known for his infectious smile and welcoming countenance. He is committed to making the patient experience an enjoyable one and is someone who loves dentistry with his patients sensing this from him. His enthusiasm and love for dentistry was recognised during his vocational training with the prestigious Central London scheme (based in Kings College London) where he was awarded “the most enthusiastic dentist” prize.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Ameen enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with family.
